HTF 1990s 2nd Generation Rainbow Brite Color Crew 15” doll with box

Vintage Rainbow Brite 90s doll licensed by Hallmark to Up Up & Away toys (in Canada by Irvine and in Europe by Ideal Toys) is a hard-to-find doll from the very short 1990s 2nd Generation reboot of Rainbow Brite that departed greatly from the original look. This is the 15” main character doll from that line —as far as I know the other dolls produced were the 9” ones shown on the back of the box, and these “Color Kids” were reimagined with different names as the “Color Crew.”

Obviously, the line didn’t take off but the dolls still have the sweet faces of late 80s/ early 90s design. Rainbow Brite could be painted and the original paint glowed in the dark. She does have a couple of faint paint spots on her dress underneath the red smock she is wearing from her original owner. As you can see, her bangs need a little treatment to get rid of that bed head! Otherwise I think the only thing missing is her original paint set. Box has age wear.
